Artist's Description
The Conley''s Ford Covered Bridge is a 192 foot single span, double Burr-arch
Truss structure built by J. Lawrence Van Fossen in 1906 and 1907. Unlike the other covered bridges in Parke County, the Conley's Ford Bridge was made of white pine, rather than poplar. It has a corrugated galvanized steel roof and has been completely re-sided and repainted. It has been claimed as the fourth longest single-span covered bridge in the world and is open to vehicular traffic.
