Description
The Bridgeton Covered Bridge, the Bridgeton Mill and Big Raccoon Creek are captured in the afternoon sun in this panorama image. The bridge was originally constructed in 1849. It was destroyed by fire in 2005 and rebuilt in 2006. The mill was established as a sawmill in 1823. It burned in 1869 and was rebuilt in 1870. Over the years it has been a saw mill, grist mill, brewery, roller mill and feed mill. Today the mill is a working grist mill operated by the Roe family and provides corn meal, flour, fish batter, grits and mixes.
